Interested in transferring to University of Maryland, Baltimore County?

In a short information session or tabling session, Transfer Coordinator, Valentina Leon-Ledezma, will be able to go over all the details you need to know about transferring to UMBC! Transferring can be a confusing process so we will assure that you are provided the resources and information to make the transfer process a smooth one.

In this session, expect to learn more about
- How to Apply for Undergraduate Admission
-Transfer Credit Information
-Majors and Minors offered at UMBC
-Financial Aid and Scholarships
-On Campus Housing

Transfer Admission process: To apply for admission, you'll complete the Transfer Common Application and provide your official transcripts from all colleges/universities you have attended Letters of recommendation are optional, and you can submit up to two. Full details about applying for transfer are on our Transfer Admissions site.

Official transcripts can be ordered and sent to us through the Common App or sent by your current/previously attended school(s) to us directly. If sending to us directly, your electronic transcript should be directed to UMBC Undergraduate Admissions at admissions@umbc.edu.
About 2-3 business days after you submit the Common Application, you'll receive an email with your UMBC campus ID and myUMBC account activation link. You'll be able to check your application status from there, and once your application has been reviewed, you can access your decision letter there as well.

The priority deadline to apply for [Fall/Spring] admission is March 1/October 15th. This is a hard deadline if you would like to be considered for transfer merit scholarships, but I encourage you to submit your Transfer Common Application and transcripts earlier than that deadline if you intend to apply for additional scholarships using Scholarship Retriever.

Visit us on campus!: We have weekly tours and open houses. Coming to campus is a great way to get a feel for our great community. https://undergraduate.umbc.edu/events/category/campus-tour/
