All are possible career paths you can follow through our Theater program.  AACC Theatre's program is more than just acting and directing. You’ll have the opportunity to learn about what happens behind the scenes to prepare the show for opening night. You’ll get a real taste of the business through our student-run clubs and AACC Theatre, with plenty of opportunities to take leadership roles. When you’ve finished your degree, you’ll be ready to start your career as an artist or to transfer to a four-year program of your choosing.

The Cade Center for Fine Arts Gallery is on the western side of AACC’s Arnold campus, 101 College Parkway. Located on the main floor of the Cade building on West Campus, The Cade Art Gallery at Anne Arundel Community College features five exhibits a year. The span of exhibiting artists is broad, yet each exhibit is focused by theme or medium. You can encounter an installation project juried by a museum curator or the latest painting by an AACC student.

If you love words – reading them, writing them, speaking them and interpreting them – you will find kindred spirits here. The English department at AACC is home to composition, literature and creative writing. The aim of the English department is to prepare you to be a more effective reader, writer and thinker and to help you develop your abilities to understand and appreciate literature and other cultures.

Whether you struggle or excel in English, we meet you where you are. At every level we work to improve your mastery of English grammar, punctuation and sentence structure, as well as your capacity to organize and express ideas in writing. In our English classes, you will develop critical thinking and analysis skills. Along the way, we can help you explore literature of the Americas and the world's many cultures, great writing informs both new and old, and classic literary themes in their cultural contexts. In our Creative Writing courses, explore your boundless imagination, sharpen your critical thinking and hone your writing skills for our student publications and beyond.

The Entrepreneurial Studies Institute (ESI) provides resources to help aspiring entrepreneurs and seasoned business owners start, manage and grow successful business ventures. Students will develop a comprehensive understanding of entrepreneurship and the steps required to start a business. In addition, many students earning a degree in entrepreneurship work with others to identify business opportunities, join entrepreneurial ventures, or work for an established organization. Entrepreneurship graduates are often in demand by growth-oriented companies wanting to incorporate entrepreneurial vision and innovation in their firms.

The Homeland Security & Criminal Justice Institute is comprised of experts in the areas of criminal and juvenile justice, jurisprudence, and homeland security. You will receive instruction and professional training from some of the most qualified and renowned attorneys, judges, police officers, federal law enforcement, and correctional administrators in the state. In our seminars and lectures, our Institute experts will engage you in some of the most intriguing and most powerful issues and events in the nation about our justice system, and systems throughout the world. Routinely, the Institute sponsors forums, seminars, conferences and professional training available to the public and practitioners throughout the Washington Metropolitan area.

The Legal Studies Institute (LSI) is a leading provider of credit and noncredit legal education programs and training, offering: Paralegal Studies Degree and Certificate programs that are approved by the American Bar Association; a Law and Jurisprudence Pre-Law Transfer Degree program, and a Continuing Legal Education (CLE) program. Experienced attorneys, judges, paralegals, and mediators teach the courses in all LSI programs. Courses are offered in traditional, online, and accelerated formats during the daytime, evening and some on Saturdays

The Performing Arts department offers a wide array of classes from entry level, general education core courses to advanced training designed to prepare students for vocations in the fields of Dance, Music and Theatre. A two-year course of study leads to an associate of arts degree in arts and science with a concentration in music, dance or theatre, taught by instructors with a wealth of professional experience and strong academic credentials. Our program provides coursework that focus on technical skills, theory and hands-on experience in an environment that encourages imagination, creativity and self-expression.

Our faculty are conservatory-trained and prize-winning musicians, published composers and local, regional, national, and international performers. On top of that, they have years of dedication to college teaching.

Supply Chain Management is the oversight of information, finances and materials as they move from supplier to manufacturer to wholesaler to retailer to consumer. You’ll be taught by instructors with current industry experience. Through field trips and hands-on activities, you’ll learn about all five modes of transportation and intermodal transportation. The Visual Arts department offers a selection of courses ranging from the traditional fine arts to digital design and time-based media. If you plan to transfer, move into the workforce and/or continue your educational journey, this is the place for you. Our innovative curriculum emphasizes both the technical and conceptual aspects of visual art and design. We offer a diverse range of programs and our newest course additions include Animation and Lithography – a perfect analogy to the breadth of our programming. All students and skill levels are welcome to participate in the visual arts programs available at AACC.
As a Visual Arts student, you can participate in professional internships, study abroad programs, community art exhibits and public lectures by visiting professionals. Our curriculum provides a broad appreciation of the visual arts across varying fields of study, artistic styles and media. You will be encouraged to develop critical thinking skills, incorporate new technology into their work, and explore new and evolving fields. We offer departmental scholarships to students, as well as individual advising in their core area of interest.
