Through BMI, students may be able to:

Meet for 1-on-1 advising and mentorship with faculty/staff.
Attend monthly Shop Talk Session forums.
Engage in BMI leadership retreat.
Participate in annual BMI Summit.
Enjoy fellowship at the annual cookout.
Understand life skills as they pertain to obtaining a degree and a professional career.
Gain the ability to mentor campus community peers through information and skills gained through BMI.

The Leadership Challenge Program is designed for students interested in building their leadership skills and confidence while actively participating in our vibrant campus community. At the Office of Student Engagement, we are committed to the development of student leaders and student organizations on campus. Are you ready to take the Leadership Challenge?

What is the Leadership Challenge Program?
The Leadership Challenge Program focuses on developing students into active leaders and positive change-makers. It consists of workshops throughout the academic year that focus on the Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership. In addition to learning about these practices, students attend other leadership opportunities of their choosing as electives and complete a Leadership Change project throughout the spring semester. The program follows a small cohort model, allowing students to develop deeper connections as they move through the program together.

Upon successful completion of the program, students will receive:

Letter of recommendation/reference
Priority consideration for leadership positions and opportunities
Certificate of Recognition at our annual Impact and Excellence Award Ceremony
Honored representative to participate in Advocacy Day
Regalia to wear for graduation

Leadership Challenge Program has a total of 25 points.

Riverhawks Rise Leadership Conference

Mission
This two-day leadership conference is open to all students, regardless of leadership experience. Through a variety of presentations, students will gain a deeper understanding of how to serve as leaders and apply leadership skills to their personal experiences and goals. Topics will include values development, self-care, growth mindset, the importance of diversity in leadership and more!

Students who attend at least five sessions will earn a Riverhawks Rise Certificate.

Free lunch will be provided to those who attend the lunch sessions in person.

Conference attendees will get a swag bag with giveaways and be entered into a drawing to win prizes. Students must attend at least one session to be eligible.
